Send Segment to a Destination in Adobe Experience Platform

Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) Destinations are integrations within Adobe Experience Platform that allow you to send customer data and audience segments to various third-party systems and platforms for further analysis, marketing activation, or personalization. AEP Destinations serve as bridges between Adobe Experience Platform and external systems, enabling seamless data transfer and synchronisation.

Adobe Experience Platform Destinations provide a powerful mechanism for extending the reach and impact of customer data by integrating with a wide range of external systems. By leveraging these integrations, organizations can create personalized experiences, enhance marketing campaigns, optimise customer interactions, and gain deeper insights into their customer base.

In this part of the lab we will be setting up the connection and leverage the destination capability of AEP to send destination to Adobe Target. Connecting Adobe Experience Platform to Adobe Target allows you to leverage the power of unified customer data and advanced personalisation capabilities to deliver highly targeted and personalised experiences to your customers.

Let's get started with the seamless integration of Adobe Experience Platform and Adobe Target.

Adobe Experience Platform Destination Setup

To get an overview of available destinations in the Adobe Experience Platform:

Step 1: In the menu on the left side, click on Destinations. You will see a dashboard overview with information on existing destination configurations.

Step 2: Click on Catalog at the tab bar. You will see all destinations cards available for you.

Step 3: Search for Target and click on three dots click on "View dataflow" (Note that you should not click on Activate segments at this point)

Step 4: You will see that Destination is already setup for your account. You do not need to setup a separate configuration. To see the configuration details, you can view Adobe Target Destination (optional) page. Click on three dots and click on Activate Segments.

Step 5: Select the segments that you would like to send it to Target. In this case select the Name - Frequent Flyers segment that you have created in the previous exercise. Click on Next

Step 6: Ignore the Mapping process at this point (out of scope of this exercise) and click on Next

Step 7: Review your details and click on Finish.

Step 8: It would be helpful if you could verify that your setup is correct before you go to Adobe Target. Click on the Browse tab under Destination. Click on "Adobe Target Destination", the destination you just created.

Step 9: If your setup was succeful, you will see your segment as shown on the screen below.

Adobe Target Integration

At this point you should be able to use the segment shared in Adobe Target to create your Experience activity.

Step 1: Click on the solutions switcher and click on Adobe Target.

Step 2: You will land on Activities dashboard with all the activities listed in your instance as shown below.

Step 3: Click on Audiences tab and search for the segments you shared. In our example, check your segment "name - Frequent Flyers". If you see your segment in Audience library, it means you have successfully setup your connector and share segment from Adobe Experience Platform to Adobe Target.

This is end of this section.
